The Days of War Realism Community has been activated and calling on all realism players of DoW to partake as we help forge the new Realism Community in this new game.

For those who do not know, during the peak years realism was very strong in Day of Defeat Source, Realism Communities sprang up one after another that intended to bring all within the Realism Community together in one setting to form it's own separate community within DODS.  Over the years one community eventually became the defacto community to be in which helped usher in a new era of realism gaming for realism players to be able to access the entire realism community in one single place. 

The website contained every essential a realism unit in DODS needed.  It had realism specific game scripts for server owners to add to their game servers, it had extremely active forums with dedicated members of various realism units taking part in discussions and polls, a league I used to run (United Warfare League) was also introduced for the first time for the Realism Community due to the ease of being able to reach the entire community at once.

Communities like this spread out to other games over time.  And pretty much, almost every game that had a realism community presence also united under their own communities.  

The community is being raised and organized to follow suit with other realism communities that have succeeded over the years in other games.  We intend to also become the center place of realism discussions, maps, scripts and assistance.  We will be seeking dedicated members to help moderate it's forums, provide tutorials about mapping or scripting or website creation; we will also play with the idea of hosting tournaments and prize giveaways.

Currently we are in our infancy and have no staff.  This will of course change into all the things mentioned, but for right now we are starting at the very first step of just having a Steam Group.  We ask that Realism Unit leaders discuss with their members if they would like to contribute or simply join in mass and to have encourage all their members to join the Steam Group.  Note that by being in the Realism Community, you do not have to partake in any leagues, tournaments or anything like that.  However, it is always good to have at least one of your members frequent the community often to speak on the units behalf in case anyone has any questions for your unit, wants to set up a match or collaboration.
